Royal Mail already has Mailshots Online, which does take electronic documents and deliver letters/postcards from them, the same underlying concept as all Hybrid Mail, though currently at a higher prices then most.

I'm not sure how the Postal Regulations apply to this service however... & whether it would be in the current perceived interests of the Royal Mail/Post Office to drop the price on this service in line with other Hybrid Mail providers, as it takes some of the mail processing work away from RM's core business.

Moreover, an RM purchase of a Hybrid Mail provider currently using RM's wholesale product may be judged as anti-competitive, so may be blocked by the competition commission...

Our own www.cfhdocmail.com is a cheaper service (the Docmail base price is 2p less than Viapost per letter), & web-based (i.e. no print driver, but more features for mailings).

PDQ-IT has involvement from some major mail industry players, though they do cost [a fair amount] more. Plus here are some smaller players offering the Hybrid Mail option too.

The international Hybrid Mail market has some very well established competition. We in the UK, seem to be a little behind on the Hybrid Mail scene, but we're getting there.

Will
(CFH Docmail)

Re: Share your idea … or go nowhere

I love the quote. I completely agree.

And you're absolutely right about competition being beneficial.Once you have competition, you have a category. Once you have a category, everyone finds it much easier to understand what it is you actually do. That makes it a lot easier both to sell to customers, and to sell to investors!

Re: Customers … come back … come back … please

It also helps to have a mailing list, so you can personally invite them back to your online or offline business.
I share interest with you on this subject. Over recent months I have put together a list of both UK and US sources of angel funding and put them in my blog on a google map format ... http://weklik.wordpress.com/re...

I will also be soon starting a new investment syndicate investing into early stage businesses in the new media / new technology space. I'd be very pleased to keep you in the loop if you are interested.

Some great stats. It also mentions that Rupert Murdoch is talking about developing an alternative device to the Kindle to stop Amazon taking the power. Surely that'd never work. You don't want a device that is limited to certain media, and no other media company will be willing to put their content through his portal!
